There is a rumor going around right now that there is something harmful about hyaluronic acid filler, but Dr. Idriss says there is no risk involved in using it. Hyaluronic acid is found in the joint tissue and the skin and if there is an increase in hyaluronic acid in the plumps of your lips then it makes them look thicker and more pronounced.
Another thing that you should know is that many people experience swelling after getting lip enhancement. This is usually temporary swelling and typically goes away within a few hours to a couple of days. Swelling is normal after any surgical procedures and it is considered a normal part of the healing process. If you notice swelling after your lip filler treatment then you should contact your doctor immediately to have the swelling resolved. You should also keep in mind that some lip fillers cause temporary bruising or bleeding and this is usually temporary as well.
Another common thing to note is that some fillers do not cause any numbness or soreness at all when used. These fillers are called semi-permanent fillers’ and they cause absolutely no pain or numbing during use.
